An Azure service that provides a hybrid, multi-cloud management platform for APIs.
Hi @Will Nixon
Glad the invoice is sorted. API Management is a bit different from other resources here. When a subscription gets disabled for non-payment, APIM is suspended along with everything else, and sometimes it doesn't come back on its own after the subscription is reactivated. There's no Start button for it on your side, so the platform team has to look at the instance.
Here's what I'd try:
- In the portal, open Subscriptions and confirm the subscription status shows Active (not Past due or Disabled). Reactivation can take up to 24 hours after payment, and some APIM instances do recover by themselves once it completes.
- If it's still stopped, open a Billing or Subscription management support request. Billing and subscription support doesn't need a paid support plan. You do need the Owner, Contributor or Support Request Contributor role on the subscription to create it, which is a common reason the form is blocked.
- In the ticket, say the subscription was reactivated after payment and the APIM instance is still stuck as Stopped/disabled. Ask them to check the backend state of the instance.
- Don't delete the APIM instance yourself in the meantime. In a similar case, support found it in a soft-deleted state and guided the recovery from there, so it's better they see it as it is.
If anyone asks for your subscription ID or resource name, share it only by private message, never in this public thread.
When you tried to open the ticket, what exactly happened? Was it an error message, or the problem type just wasn't available?
If this resolved your issue, please consider accepting it as the answer. If the instance stays stopped or the ticket still won't open, let me know and I'll be happy to keep helping.
