All I get is a message that says: Sorry, It's not you it's me. Something went wrong. I probably just need time to refresh. I have tried rebooting but still get the same message.

Since rebooting did not help, update the Copilot app and then use Windows Repair before trying the more disruptive Reset option.

    1. Update Copilot

    1. Open Microsoft Store.
    2. Select Library.
    3. Select Get updates.
    4. Install any update for Microsoft Copilot or Microsoft Store.
    5. Close Copilot completely and reopen it.

Microsoft recommends Store updates when a Store-delivered app stops functioning correctly.^1^

    2. Repair, then reset Copilot

    On Windows 11:

    1. Open Start → Settings → Apps → Installed apps.
    2. Find Microsoft Copilot.
    3. Select the More (…) button beside it, then Advanced options.
    4. Select Repair.
    5. Open Copilot and test it.
    6. If the error remains, return to the same page and select Reset.^2^

Reset is more disruptive than Repair: it clears the app’s local state, so expect to sign in again.

If Advanced options or Repair is unavailable, skip directly to the connectivity test below.

    3. Run the Copilot connectivity troubleshooter

The message can occur when Copilot cannot reach its online services. Windows includes a troubleshooter that checks firewall rules and other connection blockers:

    1. Open Start, search for Get Help, and launch it.
    2. Search for Copilot connectivity troubleshooter.
    3. Run the troubleshooter and apply any recommended remedy.
    4. Reopen Copilot and test it.^3^

If this is a managed work or school PC and the troubleshooter reports a firewall or policy restriction, provide that result to the organization’s IT administrator.

    4. Check the session, then reinstall if necessary

    1. In Copilot, verify that it is signed in with the intended account. Personal and work or school accounts remain separate, so use the account switcher if necessary.^4^
    2. If the error continues, go to Settings → Apps → Installed apps → Microsoft Copilot → Uninstall.
    3. Open Microsoft Store, locate Copilot, and install it again. Reinstallation is Microsoft’s next Store-app recovery step when updating and repair/reset do not resolve the problem.^1^

If the reinstalled app still fails, select … → Send feedback → Report a problem in Copilot. Include when the issue started, the Windows version, and a screenshot of the message.^4^
