    Hi,

This is a very common error in the new Outlook. What happens is New Outlook requires OAuth 2.0 where Microsoft's Cloud talks to the Email Server which can result in this error.

What is the “INVALID CREDENTIALS INTERACTION REQUIRED” Outlook error?

May I know who is the Email service provider of the account?

I look forward to hearing from you to get the results of the troubleshooting.

For a previously working Outlook account that now shows sign in failed and INTERACTIONREQUIRED, the supported checks are:

    1. Verify the account can still sign in on the web.
      • If the mailbox cannot be accessed through Outlook on the web, the issue may be with the account itself and needs to be resolved there first.
    2. Repair the new Outlook app.
      • Open Windows Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
      • Find Outlook (new).
      • Select Advanced options.
      • Select Repair.
      • Reopen Outlook and test sign-in.
    3. If Repair does not help, reset the app.
      • Go back to Windows Settings > Apps > Installed apps > Outlook (new) > Advanced options.
      • Select Reset.
      • Add the account again afterward.
    4. If Reset still does not help, uninstall and reinstall the new Outlook app from the Microsoft Store.
    5. If the account signs in on the web but mail in the app is not updating, this can still indicate an app-side sign-in problem. Repair or Reset is the supported next step.

For work or school accounts, if the same account also cannot access the mailbox through the web, the Microsoft 365 administrator should check the account sign-in status.
