If two-finger scrolling is not working, the first thing to check is whether the touchpad supports Precision Touchpad gestures and whether two-finger scrolling is enabled.
- Open Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Touchpad.
- In the Touchpad page, check whether it says Your PC has a precision touchpad.
- Under Scroll & zoom, make sure Drag two fingers to scroll is turned on.
If the setting is already on, update or reinstall the touchpad driver:
- Open Windows Update and check for updates. This is the recommended way to get updated touchpad drivers.
- If needed, open Device Manager.
- Look for the touchpad under:
- Human Interface Devices, or
- Mice and other pointing devices
- Try Update Driver first.
- If updating does not help, reinstall the touchpad driver through Device Manager. Reinstalling can force the latest driver to download from Windows Update.
If the touchpad is missing from Device Manager or is behaving like a basic mouse, install the touchpad driver provided by the laptop manufacturer for the exact model. In some cases, the chipset or Serial IO driver from the manufacturer is also needed before the touchpad driver is detected correctly.
If none of that fixes it, contact the device manufacturer for the correct driver package for the laptop model.
