Since the troubleshooter says the PC is connected, this is likely a Windows network detection or adapter issue rather than a complete internet outage.
Try these steps in order:
- Run the built-in network troubleshooter again.
- In Windows 11, start the automated Network and Internet troubleshooter in the Get Help app.
- If using the Settings path, go to Start > Settings > Network and Internet > Status > Network troubleshooter and complete the prompts.
- If this is a Wi-Fi connection, verify Wi-Fi is actually enabled.
- Open Settings > Network & internet.
- Make sure Wi-Fi is turned on.
- If no Wi-Fi networks appear, check whether the laptop has a physical Wi‑Fi switch and make sure it is on.
- Check whether the network adapter is disabled.
- Select Search, type Device Manager, then open it.
- Expand Network adapters.
- If the wireless adapter is listed but disabled, right-click it and select Enable device.
- Check the adapter driver status.
- In Device Manager > Network adapters, right-click the network adapter and select Properties.
- On the Driver tab, review the Driver Version and Driver Date.
- Install the latest driver through Windows Update and compare it with the version available from the PC manufacturer.
- Reset the network stack from an elevated Command Prompt.
- Open Search, type Command prompt, then select Run as administrator.
- Run these commands in order:
-
netsh winsock reset
-
netsh int ip reset
-
ipconfig /release
-
ipconfig /renew
-
ipconfig /flushdns
- Reinstall the network adapter driver if Device Manager allows it.
- Warning: uninstalling the adapter can temporarily remove connectivity. Have a backup driver available first.
- In Device Manager, expand Network adapters.
- Right-click the affected adapter and select Uninstall device.
- Select Attempt to remove the driver for this device if shown, then select Uninstall.
- Restart the PC. Windows should automatically reinstall the adapter driver.
- If the adapter cannot be reinstalled in Device Manager:
- Download the latest network driver from the PC manufacturer on another PC if needed.
- Copy it to a USB drive.
- Install it manually on the affected Windows 11 PC.
If no network adapters are detected in Device Manager, Windows is not detecting the hardware and a manual driver install from the device manufacturer is the next supported step.
