My touchpad doesn't work, "touchpad" is missing from the list of HID devices in "device manager". How can it be restored?

Look at the function keys on your keyboard, if one of those keys has a touchpad symbol with a line through it, try pressing that key or Fn + that key to test if that enables the touchpad.

If the touchpad is not listed in the HID section, is it listed in the 'Mice and other pointing devices' section in Device Manager?

    If not:

Please provide a screenshot of your Device Manager window.

Click your Start Button, then just type msinfo and press Enter, please provide a screenshot of the resulting System Information window.
