A family of Microsoft spreadsheet software with tools for analyzing, charting, and communicating data
Hi Kevin,
You do not need to copy the tab 30 times manually. In this case, the quickest method is to use a short macro. You can follow these steps:
- First, design one worksheet as your daily template and rename that worksheet "Template".
- Press Alt + F11 (or Alt + Fn + F11) to open the Visual Basic Editor.
- Select Insert > Module and paste this script:
Sub CreateDailyTabs()
Dim dayNumber As Integer
Dim numberOfDays As Integer
Dim templateSheet As Worksheet
numberOfDays = Day(DateSerial(Year(Date), Month(Date) + 1, 0))
Set templateSheet = Worksheets("Template")
For dayNumber = 1 To numberOfDays
templateSheet.Copy After:=Worksheets(Worksheets.Count)
ActiveSheet.Name = Format(DateSerial(Year(Date), Month(Date), dayNumber), "mmm dd")
Next dayNumber
End Sub
- Press F5 to run it. The macro automatically determines whether the current month has 28, 29, 30, or 31 days and creates tabs named, for example, Oct 01, Oct 02, and Oct 03, etc.
Hope this will help. Should you need further assistance, please feel free to reach out again in the comments on this post. I'm happy to help.
