    Hello,

This is a widely reported issue in which a older Windows device continues to appear on your Microsoft account even after it has been removed. The issue may need to be resolved on Microsoft’s server side.

In the meantime, try removing the device again by signing in at https://account.microsoft.com/devices using an InPrivate window in Microsoft Edge or an Incognito window in Google Chrome. You can also try using a different device or network, then follow the same steps to remove the device from your account.

If the issue persists, submit feedback to Microsoft by clicking the feedback icon in the lower-right corner of the Devices page. Describe the issue, provide any relevant details, and then click Submit.

This usually indicates a device sync or server-side issue rather than a problem with the old device itself.

    Try this path:

    1. Go back to the Microsoft account Devices page and try removing the device again from there.
    2. If the device is already offline or no longer accessible, wait a few days and try again. Accepted Microsoft Q&A guidance indicates device management servers may not have finished syncing yet.
    3. If the device still appears, sign out of Microsoft account sessions under account security settings, then retry the removal.
    4. If the device is a personal Windows PC you no longer use, remove it from the Microsoft account Devices page:
      • Sign in to https://account.microsoft.com/devices
      • Find the device
      • Select Remove device
      • Confirm by checking the box and selecting Remove
    5. If the goal is only to free Microsoft Store device slots, unlink it instead:
      • Sign in to https://account.microsoft.com/devices/content
      • Select the device
      • Choose Unlink

    Important limits and conditions:

    • It can take up to 24 hours for a registered device to appear on the list.
    • A device may already be attached to another account.
    • A company- or organization-managed PC cannot be registered to a personal Microsoft account.
    • macOS and mobile devices cannot currently be added to the Microsoft account devices list.

If the error continues, use Microsoft Support from the account help page.
