Hi Amos Moller,
Since the voice typing window appears but does not react to your speech, it may be worth checking whether the Windows speech components are still functioning correctly in the background.
Please try these additional quick checks:
1, Test the microphone outside of voice typing
- Open Voice Recorder and make a short recording.
- Play it back to confirm Windows is receiving audio normally.
2, Restart Windows audio-related services
- Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
- Restart:
- Windows Audio
- Windows Audio Endpoint Builder
3, Run the Recording Audio Troubleshooter
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters.
- Run Recording Audio and apply any recommended fixes.
4, Test from a new local Windows account
- Create a temporary local user account and try voice typing there.
- If it works in the new profile, the issue may be related to the current user profile rather than the microphone itself.
I hope one of these checks helps identify where the issue is occurring. Let me know if you need further assistance, feel free to ask me by clicking "Add Comment" or "Add Answer" if you cannot add comment so your response will be visible. Thanks for your effort.
