Hi Ellis Mebus,
I understand how confusing this is when Link to Windows asks you to sign in but then says that password sign-in is not available.
Before resetting or recovering the account, I would first check whether this is happening only inside Link to Windows. On the same iPhone, please open Safari and try signing in to your Microsoft account. Then let me know:
- Can you sign in successfully in Safari?
- Is this a personal Microsoft account, or a work or school account?
- When you select Other ways to sign in or Sign-in options, which methods are actually listed?
- Does the same message appear if you restart the iPhone and begin the Link to Windows setup again?
Please note that Phone Link does not support work or school accounts, so the setup needs to use a personal Microsoft account. Also, make sure the iPhone is running iOS 16 or later, Link to Windows is up to date, and Bluetooth is enabled on both the iPhone and the Windows PC.
If the account also cannot sign in through Safari, use the Microsoft Account Sign-in Helper to check the account and the available sign-in methods: Microsoft Account Sign-in Helper
Please share what happens during the Safari test and which alternative sign-in options appear. That will help distinguish an account sign-in issue from a problem limited to Link to Windows. Thank you so much for your understanding.
