    Hello Shirley,

This issue usually indicates that either the System Protection storage allocation limit is being reset to 0%, the Volume Shadow Copy service (VSS) is encountering errors, or third party maintenance/antivirus software is clearing restore points upon restart. The yellow warning triangle specifically indicates that System Protection is disabled or configured with insufficient storage on that drive.

Please follow these steps to resolve the issue:

    1. Reconfigure and Allocate Storage Space: Press Windows Key + R, type sysdm.cpl, and press Enter. Go to the "System Protection" tab. Select your main system drive (C:) and click "Configure". Select "Turn on system protection". Under Disk Space Usage, move the Max Usage slider to at least 5% to 10% around 10 GB - 15 GB. If it is set to 0%, Windows will immediately delete restore points. Click Apply, then click OK. Now click Create to manually make a test restore point and confirm it finishes successfully.
    2. Check the Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS): Press Windows Key + R, type services.msc, and press Enter. Scroll down to locate Volume Shadow Copy. Right click it and select Properties. Ensure Startup type is set to "Automatic" or "Manual". If the service is stopped, click "Start". Do the same for "Microsoft Software Shadow Copy Provider".
    3. Run System File and Component Checks: Right-click the Start Menu and select Terminal (Admin) or PowerShell (Admin). Run the following command and hit Enter: sfc /scannow After that completes, run: DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth Restart your computer and verify if the restore point remains in place.

Let us know if the restore point persists or if the slider resets after a reboot.
