Hi COLIN PAGE,
Could you confirm the exact make and model of your device and whether you’re using Windows 10 or Windows 11? Was the option to switch between the front and rear cameras available and working before or has it always been missing? Also, under Device Manager > Cameras, do you see one camera or more than one?
If you’re using Windows 11, also check Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Cameras to see whether another camera appears under Connected cameras or Disabled cameras. If a second camera is listed as disabled, select it and choose Enable.
If the device genuinely has only one built-in front-facing camera, it cannot be made to face the other direction through software. In that case, besides using a USB webcam, you may be able to use a compatible Android phone as a wireless camera. Open Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Mobile devices, add or select the linked phone and enable Use as connected camera if that option is available.
Let me know the device model and what appears under Cameras, I’ll help you narrow down the most suitable option.
