Organizing, editing, and coordinating meetings and events within Microsoft Teams calendars
For a Teams meeting invite to appear in the calendar and show accept/decline actions, first confirm which Outlook experience is being used on the Surface Pro.
If using new Outlook and a Microsoft 365 work or school account:
- Open Calendar.
- Go to View > Calendar Settings.
- Select Calendar > Events and invitations.
- Turn on Show declined events on your calendar if needed, then Save.
Important limits from the documented behavior:
- This feature is supported only for Microsoft 365 work or school accounts.
- It is not supported for personal Microsoft accounts such as outlook.com, hotmail.com, live.com, msn.com, or IMAP/POP accounts from other providers.
- If a meeting is declined in classic Outlook for Windows, declined events do not appear across Outlook and Teams calendar services.
If the issue is specifically that the Teams meeting option is missing in new Outlook when creating or viewing events:
- Make sure Outlook and Teams are signed in with the same work or school account.
- Make sure the device is using the new Teams client.
- Reinitialize integration:
- Close Outlook.
- Right-click the Teams icon in the toolbar and select Quit Teams.
- Start Teams and sign in.
- Start Outlook.
If the event still does not appear in Teams calendar:
- Verify the same account is being used in Teams and Outlook.
- Check whether the event appears in Outlook first, because Teams reads calendar data from Outlook/Exchange.
- If the event was created in a shared mailbox or delegated calendar, it will not appear in the personal Teams calendar.
