Try this in order:
- Restart the laptop.
- Check Windows Update and install all updates, including optional updates:
- Right-click Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > Advanced options.
- Turn on Receive updates for other Microsoft products when you update Windows.
- Go back to Windows Update and select Check for updates.
- If View optional updates appears, open it, select all optional updates, and choose Download and install.
- Restart the laptop after updates finish, even if Windows does not require it.
- Check whether the touchscreen device is disabled:
- Right-click Start and select Device Manager.
- Expand Human Interface Devices.
- Right-click HID-compliant touch screen and select Enable device.
- If there are multiple HID-compliant touch screen entries, repeat for each one.
- If the touchscreen entry is present but touch still does not work, disable it and then enable it again from Device Manager.
- If HID-compliant touch screen is missing entirely, scan for hardware changes in Device Manager. If it still does not return, perform a hard power cycle by holding the power button for 30 seconds to force hardware re-enumeration.
- If the device remains missing after that, check whether the touchscreen is recognized in BIOS/UEFI and reinstall the manufacturer’s official chipset and serial I/O drivers.
- If touch still does not work after updates and these checks, contact the device manufacturer.
Since a factory reset already did not restore touch, focus first on Device Manager, Windows Update including optional updates, and the hard power cycle rather than repeating reset steps.
