Welcome Deimos,
Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A Forum. I understand that your HP ENVY touchscreen stopped working after using and later removing a Wacom tablet, and that the issue persists even after a factory reset.
Before proceeding, could you please clarify:
- Is the HID-compliant touch screen entry currently missing from Device Manager, or is it listed but not functioning?
- Does the touchscreen work in the BIOS/UEFI environment, or only fail after Windows starts?
In the meantime, you can try these steps:
Option 1: Remove any remaining Wacom software and drivers
- Open Settings > Apps and uninstall all Wacom-related software
- Restart the device
Option 2: Check for hidden or disabled HID devices
- Open Device Manager
- Select View > Show hidden devices
- Expand Human Interface Devices
- If any touchscreen or HID device appears dimmed, uninstall it
- Select Action > Scan for hardware changes
Option 3: Run the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter
- Open Command Prompt as Administrator
- Run:
msdt.exe`` ``-id`` ``DeviceDiagnostic - Complete the wizard and apply any suggested fixes
Option 4: Check whether the touchscreen service is being detected by Windows.
- Open Device Manager
- From the View menu, select Devices by connection
- Look for any device with a warning icon under Human Interface Devices or Sensor-related categories
