Windows licenses are tied to the motherboard's hardware ID. Whether you can transfer your Windows license to another motherboard depends on how it was originally acquired. You can find your old key with the tool linked in this previous post:
Have to re-activate Windows after installing new motherboard and CPU, but don't have a key anymore
For the life of me I can't find a way to talk to any kind of Microsoft support, which is absolutely ridiculous.
I've just installed a new motherboard and CPU in my desktop, but now it's asking to activate Windows again. I don't have the product key anymore since I bought this PC well over 15 years ago with Windows pre-installed and upgraded it through the years. Troubleshooter doesn't give me any solution sadly.
Any help is appreciated.

If the PC was originally Windows 7 or 8
and you got the free upgrade to Windows 10
you may be out of luck trying to activate
on new hardware I'm sorry to say. Did you upgrade
the hardware to be able to get Windows 11?
If you did you'll have to go to the Microsoft Store
and purchase Windows 11 to be able to activate.
