How to re-establish audio after using C extension to connect external monitor

I am using a USB-C Dual HDMI adapter ( to connect one or two larger monitors, in order to overcome a graphics limitation in my HP 17 Laptop. Now audio has been lost

    Hi @BEK K

    Connecting the USB-C to HDMI adapter may have caused Windows to switch audio output to the monitor.

    1. Select the speaker icon on the taskbar.
    2. Select the arrow beside the volume slider.
    3. Choose Speakers, Realtek Audio, or the laptop’s built-in audio device instead of the HDMI monitor.
    4. If you want sound through the monitor, select its HDMI audio device and confirm that the monitor has built-in speakers and is not muted.

    If the laptop speakers are missing from the list, open Settings > System > Sound > More sound settings, select Playback, then enable and set the laptop speakers as the default device.
