SMB protocol negotions fail after 25H2 update

My Windows 11 25H2 update installs successfully, but it breaks SMB and network sharing on all my computers. This is a Windows servicing issue, not a configuration problem. I need a Level 2 escalation and a support case created so a technician can review the servicing logs.”

If you want to contact Microsoft support you will need to use the Get Help app in windows. Search the phrase billing then select Contact Support. There are a couple more filters then you should see Chat with an agent in your web browser.

What do you mean 25H2 breaks SMB? Are you aware Windows does not install SMB by default. To enable it you have to go to the Control Panel -> Programs and Features -> Turn on features

And you don't want to use their implementation anyway because SMBv1 is a security nightmare.

Windows is now use WSD for device discovery over the "home" network. Yet is has it pitfalls too. Specifically, when navigating into the Network folder, you will not see your local PC in the list unless you restart the Network Discovery service to re-publish all the device names.

Work around is to create shortcuts to the device IP addresses. There is a lot of information in the cloud on the subject.

Don't expect MS to fix their discovery functionality. It has been an issue since Windows 98 and their NetBIOS days.
