    Hi. I'm David, and I'm happy to help you.

    This usually happens if the sign-in requirement setting was turned off or reset. You can easily turn it back on by following these steps:

    1. Open Settings by pressing the "Windows key + I";
    2. Click on "Accounts" on the left menu;
    3. Select "Sign-in options";
    4. Look for the section labeled "If you've been away, when should Windows require you to sign in again?";
    5. Change the dropdown menu from "Never" to "Every Time".

    Once you change that, Windows will prompt for your PIN every time it wakes up.

    Feel free to ask any questions you may have.

    Welcome Frank Lamanna,

    Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A Forum. I understand that your Windows 11 PC no longer asks for your PIN after waking from sleep.

    Could you let me know:

    • Did this start after a recent Windows update or any system changes?
    • Are you using a PIN with Windows Hello, or another sign-in method such as a password or fingerprint?

    In the meantime, you can try these steps:

    Option 1: Check the Screen Saver settings

    • Press Windows + R, type control desk.cpl,,@screensaver and press Enter
    • Enable On resume, display logon screen if available
    • Click Apply

    Option 2: Review power settings

    • Open Control Panel > Power Options
    • Select your current power plan
    • Choose Change plan settings > Change advanced power settings
    • Expand Sleep and review the available wake-related settings

    Option 3: Confirm sleep is being used

    • Some systems may be entering a different power state such as Modern Standby rather than traditional sleep
    • Open Command Prompt and run:powercfg /a
    • Note which sleep states are available on the device

    Option 4: Test with a new local user account

    • Create a temporary local account
    • Sign in to that account and check whether the PIN prompt appears after waking the PC
