Hi Mahesh Chaudhari,
I understand that you would like to access or control another computer from a PC at your college. I’ll be happy to point you in the right direction, but could you please clarify a few details first?
- Are both computers your own, or is either one owned and managed by the college?
- Are you trying to access your own computer remotely, assist another person with their permission, or manage a college computer?
- Are both computers connected to the college network, or are you connecting from outside the campus?
- Which Windows edition is installed on the computer you want to access, such as Windows Home or Pro?
- Has the college provided an approved remote-access tool, account, or VPN?
If the destination computer is managed by the college, it would be best to check with the college IT department before changing any remote-access settings. College devices and networks may have security policies that restrict remote connections, and the appropriate access permission must be granted by the administrator.
For a personal computer that you are authorized to use, please note that the PC receiving a Remote Desktop connection must run a supported Windows Pro edition. A Windows Home PC can be used to connect to another computer, but it cannot act as the Remote Desktop host.
You can find more information in Microsoft’s official guide: How to use Remote Desktop
Once you share the details above, the community can suggest the most suitable and secure option for your setup. Thank you so much for your understanding.
