If the issue started after signing in to a school account in Microsoft Edge or elsewhere on the PC, first check whether that school account is connected to Windows:
- Open Settings > Accounts > Access work or school.
- If the school account is listed, select it and Disconnect it.
- Restart the PC.
That can remove organization-enforced sign-in or PIN requirements that interfere with normal use on a personal Windows 10 home PC.
If the problem is specifically that apps or websites say a parent blocked access to non-Microsoft apps, the parent consent settings likely did not include permission for 3rd-party apps. In that case, the parent needs to review parental consent settings and allow access to 3rd-party apps.
If the problem is with saving files into certain folders and the message says permission is required, try moving the homework files to a folder under the child’s profile such as Documents or Desktop, then work from there. If the folder is protected by Windows Security or synced with OneDrive, that can also block changes.
Use this order:
- Disconnect any school/work account from Settings > Accounts > Access work or school.
- Restart and test homework access again.
- If the block mentions parent or games and apps that aren't published by Microsoft, review parental consent for 3rd-party apps.
- If the error happens only in one folder, move the files to Documents and try again there.
