Try these steps in order:
- Move the mouse to the very bottom edge of the screen. If the taskbar appears, it is likely set to auto-hide.
- Turn off auto-hide:
- Right-click an empty area on the taskbar and select Taskbar settings.
- Expand Taskbar behaviors.
- Clear Automatically hide the taskbar.
- If the taskbar does not appear or still does not respond, restart Windows Explorer:
- Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
- Find Windows Explorer.
- Right-click it and select Restart. This refreshes the taskbar and Start interface.
- If using more than one display, check whether the taskbar is showing on another monitor.
If the taskbar appears but clicking it still does not work, restarting Windows Explorer is the main next step.
