Hi, I'm John! I will help you with this.

    1. Can you share a screenshot or photo of what you're seeing?
    2. Also, where exactly is the image showing up? Is it on your desktop, in a browser window, on the lock screen, or does it remain visible over everything else?
    3. Does the image stay on the screen even after closing YouTube and restarting the laptop?

This will help determine whether it's a Windows issue, a browser issue, or possibly a display-related problem.

A persistent “stuck” image on the screen is usually caused by a display/graphics issue or Windows getting stuck rendering the desktop. On Windows 11, try these steps in order:

    1. Reset the graphics driver
      • Press Windows logo key + Ctrl + Shift + B once.
      • The screen should briefly flicker and you may hear a beep. This resets the graphics driver.
      • If nothing changes and already tried this, continue with the next steps.
    2. Check if Windows is actually frozen or just the image
      • Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete.
      • If the blue security screen appears, select Task Manager.
      • In Task Manager, try to restart Windows Explorer:
        • If you can interact: find Windows Explorer in the list, right‑click it, choose Restart.
        • If Task Manager opens but you cannot interact with it, treat this as a freeze and move to the force restart step.
    3. Try to wake or switch display mode
      • Press Windows + P, then tap P again and press Enter to cycle display modes (PC screen only, Duplicate, Extend).
      • This can fix cases where Windows is sending output in the wrong mode or to a non‑existent display.
    4. Force a restart
      • Hold the power button on the laptop for about 20 seconds until it fully powers off.
      • Wait a few seconds, then power it back on.
      • This is safe for a frozen system but may cause unsaved work to be lost.
    5. Check for blank/black screen causes
      • If the stuck image is effectively a “blank/black screen with a frozen frame,” the same guidance for blank screens applies:
        • Ensure the laptop is plugged in and charged.
        • If using an external monitor, verify cables and that the monitor is powered on.
        • Use Windows + Ctrl + Shift + B again to reset the graphics driver and confirm the screen flickers.

If the problem keeps returning on a new laptop, contact the device manufacturer’s support, as persistent display issues on a new device can indicate a hardware or firmware problem that may require service or replacement.
