Windows 10 and 11 do not provide a built‑in way to see the geographic source or provider details for individual images used by the Photos screen saver or by Windows Spotlight/lock‑screen images. The screen saver simply displays pictures from either:
- A local folder that was selected in Screen Saver Settings (for the Photos screen saver), or
- Online content services such as Windows Spotlight for the lock screen.
To check the local source folder for a Photos screen saver image in Windows 10/11:
- Open Settings → Personalization → Lock screen.
- Select Screen saver to open Screen Saver Settings.
- If Photos is selected, the Settings… button shows which folder on the PC the images are coming from. Any image shown by that screen saver is stored somewhere in that folder (or its subfolders).
If the image is from Windows Spotlight on the lock screen, its exact online origin (for example, which satellite or provider) is not exposed through Windows settings.
