Hi, I'm John! I will help you with this.

On many Windows laptops, the keyboard backlight is controlled using a Function (Fn) key.

    Please try this:

Look at your keyboard and find a key with a keyboard/light icon (often on F3, F4, F5, F7, or F9).

Hold Fn and press that key.

    Example: Fn + F5 or Fn + F9

Or press Fn + Esc first (this turns on the Function keys on some laptops). Then try pressing Fn + the key with the keyboard/light icon

Press it a few times to cycle through brightness levels.

I really hope this information is helpful! Let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.

    Regards,

    John J.D.

To turn on the backlight for your keyboard, you can typically use the function keys on your keyboard. On newer Surface devices, the F5 key cycles through four levels of backlighting. If you have an older model, you may need to use the F7 key. Additionally, ensure that the Fn key is toggled correctly if your keyboard requires it for function keys to work properly.

If these methods do not work, check your device settings to ensure that the keyboard backlight feature is enabled.
