Can't connect to 5G mobile Hotspot.

I recently got a new network adapter (TP-Link Archer T2U Plus) so i can connect to my 5G network. Everything was fine, but then i tried connecting my PC to my mobile hotspot. Usually, there isn't a problem, but then, i realised that when i use the 5G AP band for my hotspot, my computer can't detect it. When I use 2.4G it connects just fine. It's weird because I do have 5G support, i can connect to my 5G WiFi networks.

Phone is Redmi Note 9 (MIUI 13.0.3.0 [SJOEUXM], Android 12 SP1A.210812.016), PC is Windows 10 Pro 64-bit.

Tried updating the driver for the WiFi adapter, but that did not solve the problem.

I tried connecting another device to my 5G hotspot and it connected like normal.

Hi Lazaros,

This is Tamal trying to help you with the issue.

Several possibilities are there that can cause issues.

Check in wifi driver properties if all 802.11 N, AC, AX models are enabled there.

PC is set to correct country/region. Different countries have different bands enabled for use, unlike 2.4 GHz where there is only 14 channels 5GHz has hundreds of channels & different channel spacing so choosing correct Country or region is important.

Next thing you mentioned you have already tried reinstalling drivers. Try that from TP-link or Windows update, the other one than previously used source.

Try placing the phone close to PC, within 2-3 Meters & with clear line of sight between two if they can see each other.

Hello. My wifi adapter doesnt support WiFi 6 (802.11ax). Tried updating too, didnt solve it. Also region is correct.
