win11 indexing

After upgrading win10 to win11, indexing service/options does not work and the pc is slow when opening windows explorer.

Notice that troubleshooting Indexing, does not exist in the settings

Any possible solution in the web, did not work !!!

Tried DISM, tried sfc tried everything....

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

Open Command Prompt, then run this command and press Enter:

msdt.exe -id SearchDiagnostic

Run that Search and Indexing Troubleshooter to see if that can find and solve the problem.

Click your Start button, then just type services and press Enter.

Scroll down to find the Windows Search service.

Double click that service, what is its Startup type set to, and are you unable to start the service form there?

service status is automatic

if i manually start it, it crash and stop

Before the upgrade of win10 to win11, the service was working perfectly !

Open File Explorer

Navigate to this folder and delete the contents of this folder

C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Search\Data\Applications\Windows

Navigate to this folder and delete the contents of this folder

C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Search\Data\Temp

Restart (not shut down) your PC and check if that service can be enabled.
