Surface Laptop 5 stuck at Windows logo after firmware update (via automatic Windows Updates)

After updating the firmware on two different Microsoft Surface Laptop 5 devices, both are now stuck at the Windows logo screen upon boot.

Troubleshooting steps already tried:

Attempted to enter UEFI/BIOS using the Volume Up + Power button combination (unsuccessful).

Performed multiple hard resets (unsuccessful).

Has anyone encountered this specific issue after a recent firmware update, and is there a known fix or workaround? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Attempted to enter UEFI/BIOS using the Volume Up + Power button combination (unsuccessful).

Wenn das Surface nicht mehr ins UEFI gestartet werden kann, liegt in aller Regel ein Hardwareproblem vor und die Geräte müssen repariert oder getauscht werden.

If the Surface can no longer be booted into the UEFI, this generally indicates a hardware problem. The devices must be repaired or replaced.

Im deutsch- und englichsprachigen Forum gibt es keine Hinweise, dass die Firmwareupdates vom 4. und 17.9.2026 zu dem von dir beschriebenen Problem geführt haben.
