Unable to remove expired custom domain (energos.eu) from Outlook.com

Hello Microsoft Support,

I have a Microsoft account that previously used the custom domain energos.eu through the Outlook.com Personalized Email Address feature.

The domain energos.eu has expired and is no longer registered with GoDaddy. I no longer have access to the domain or its DNS settings.

In Outlook.com, the custom email address ******@energos.eu is still associated with my account. The Personalized Email Address settings show an error indicating that Outlook cannot connect to the domain, and I am unable to fully remove the domain association from my Microsoft account.

I would like Microsoft to:

  1. Remove all remaining associations between my Microsoft account and the domain energos.eu.
  2. Remove the custom alias ******@energos.eu.
  3. Release any domain references that may prevent future use of the domain in Microsoft services.

Please let me know if you require my Microsoft account email address or any additional information for verification.

Thank you for your assistance.

Kind regards, Pavel Pavlov

    Hi @Pavel Pavlov

Maybe you can contact the new owner of the domain, and maybe he will help you to get the emails to cut the association with your account. Or the other options is when the domain is still free to buy, then buy it again for another one year cut the association with your outlook.com account and then cut the domain again.

    Sorry for the circumstances.

    Best regards

    Hi @Pavel Pavlov

I understand that the expired domain energos.eu and the custom address ******@energos.eu are still associated with your Outlook.com account, even though you no longer own the domain or have access to its DNS settings.

Please first check the Microsoft account alias page at account.live.com/names/manage. If ******@energos.eu is listed, select Remove next to it.

If the address is not listed there, or the removal option under Outlook.com Settings > Premium > Personalized email address continues to fail, this will require assistance from Microsoft Support because forum moderators cannot access your account or remove the domain association from the backend.

Please contact Microsoft Support and provide the expired domain, the affected custom address, and a screenshot of what you see.

    • Select Show expanded list of products.
    • Select Outlook > Get Home support.
    • Enter Outlook live chat, then select Get Help > Contact Support.
    • Sign in with the affected account. If that is not possible, use another Microsoft account to view the available support options.
    • Ask our Support Assistant > Type "Talk to live chat agent" > Contact Support
    • Under Products & Services, select Other Products > Outlook, then choose Chat with a support agent in your web browser.

    Thank you for your understanding.
