Too many Microsoft accounts on Teams. How do I just keep one?

Hello Community

For some time now, I have been unable to send TEAMS appointments in my Outlook. I no longer have access to TEAMS.

It turns out that I have too many Microsoft accounts, which are blocking each other. The organisation of the accounts is no longer comprehensible and I can no longer delete or manage the accounts myself. I no longer need most of the accounts (see image below).

I only need one account, REMOVE PII; all the others can be deleted.

My question and request to you is this:

Can you delete these accounts so that I can work with TEAMS again?

2nd question: I cannot send Teams video meeting to other person. The button for 'Teams call' is grayed out. Does anyone know how to solve this?

Regarding your issue, having multiple Microsoft accounts can definitely cause conflicts with Teams and Outlook. So here are some steps you can try:

Remove unwanted accounts from Windows for Teams desktop

Go to Settings > Account > Access work or school.
Select Disconnect to remove the accounts you don't need

Clear Cached Credentials

Open Control Panel > Credential Manager > Manage Windows Credentials.
Remove any entries related to the unwanted Microsoft accounts.

Reset Teams

Close Teams.
Press Win + R, type:

%userprofile%\appdata\local\Packages\MSTeams_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Microsoft\MSTeams

Delete all files in that folder.
Restart Teams and sign in with your main account.

Hi Jess-Q
Thanks for your first support. Unfortunately it doesn't work!!!
I've done all your proposed steps, but theree's still the problem of two accounts REMOVE PII (one private, one business).

And I can't delete the business one, even the others below iek and outlook.

At the end, there has to be just one... the private REMOVE PII

May you help me - I'm really desperated!

May I kindly ask if you have tried uninstalling Teams and reinstall again to see if it helps with your issue?

Here are some steps you can try:

Open Settings in Windows > Select Apps > Installed apps

Find Teams and select Uninstall

Then Restart your device.

After this, install Microsoft Teams via Microsoft website: Microsoft Teams für Windows herunterladen

Then open Teams again to check if the account are still there

Thank you very much for the reply. Unfortunately, the problem is still not resolved.

I cannot log into TEAMS because I have multiple private accounts registered under the same account. I even created a new Outlook Microsoft account – and apparently, the connections in the background still link to the existing accounts and block each other. So the problem is not yet resolved. Do you have any other ideas? I cannot delete the different accounts myself.

May I kindly ask if you could please redo the process once more, but this time with a few additional actions?

Before starting:

End the Teams process:

Open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc)

Find Microsoft Teams under the “Processes” tab

Right-click and choose End Task

Restart your device

Clear Teams cache:

Press Windows + R, type:

%userprofile%\appdata\local\Packages\MSTeams_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Microsoft\MSTeams

Make sure you fully delete all files and folders inside it; it should look completely empty like this

Office Sign-In:

Open any Office app (Word, Excel)

Go to File > Account

Sign out of all accounts except the one you want to keep. Once that’s done, please retry the steps I have suggested earlier then Uninstall Teams and Restart your device and Install Teams again.

Hopefully this time it will help solve your issue.
