Hi Robert,
I'm Cherrelyn and I'm here to help.
Windows 11 treats “sleep after inactivity” differently from manually triggering hibernation S4. By default, the idle timer only sends the system into S3 sleep and won’t push it all the way into hibernate unless you explicitly set the option. To get what you want, check your active power plan - Change advanced power settings - expand Sleep - set Hibernate after to a value like 30 minutes instead of just “Sleep after.” That way Windows will actually use S4 automatically after idle, instead of just sitting awake forever.
I hope this will help and if you have any question please feel free to ask.
Warm regards,
Cherrelyn
