Xbox app game installation downloads ignore delivery optimization download limits in Windows 11 (even after a reboot)

Hi.

As the title says, I have no way of limiting download speeds of user-initiated game installation processes in the Xbox app in Windows 11.

I tried precentage and absolute limits. I tried restarting the PC and restarting the DO process and Xbox app.

Get-DeliveryOptimizationPerfSnap output while the download is going on:

My guess is that the Xbox app is for some reason circumventing the delivery optimizations, possibly because it is a user-initiated download, but would be absurd, right?

I'm pretty sure every other game store nowadays has a way to limit its download speeds. I really hope the Xbox app isn't the only one lacking in this department.

Appreciate any advice.

    Hello Mr. Hopeman,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

You are actually correct; the Delivery Optimization doesn't work with user-initiated downloads. And there is currently no way to limit download speed in the Xbox app.

In this case, the best workaround for it is to use external throttling. Also, you can submit your suggestion to the Feedback Hub app in your Windows computer. It will be directly submitted to the engineering team so they can consider.
