Hello Rechtweber Legal ,
I am sorry for the delayed response and thank you for your patience.
When you upgrade hardware such as the CPU, Windows Server may require reactivation because the hardware ID changes. If you see an error stating the hardware ID binding is beyond the level of tolerance, you can try the following solutions:
- If you are using MAK activation, reactivate the system online or by phone during the Out of Tolerance (OOT) grace period.
- If you are using KMS activation, restart Windows and run the command slmgr.vbs /ato in an elevated command prompt.
If your product key is not accepted or is reported as invalid, blocked, or unavailable, you may need to contact the Microsoft Licensing Activation Centers to verify or obtain a new key. If the system now shows a retail version instead of Essentials, this could be due to the reset or incorrect installation of media. Reinstalling the operating system may resolve this, but it is a significant effort.
Hope this helps! Let me know how it goes or if you run into anything else.
