Dear @PaMo,
Since your private account works and your business accounts operate normally on another device, the issue is highly likely isolated to the Web Account Manager (WAM) or a corrupted Microsoft 365 identity cache on this specific machine. When the login window hangs before the password prompt, it usually means the device is failing to load the modern authentication broker.
To help me narrow down the cause, could you please provide the following details?
- Does the login error occur when you use the web browser, the OneDrive app, or both? This helps determine whether the issue is with the embedded web view or the authentication flow itself.
- When you say it gets stuck on a "loading screen," do you see any error message or code after waiting a few minutes? Sometimes an error like AADSTS or 8000ffff appears after a delay.
- Are you able to sign in to these business accounts through a browser on the same device? This confirms whether the issue is specific to the OneDrive app or a broader authentication problem on the device.
In the meantime, please try the following official troubleshooting steps which usually resolve issues with basic issues.
Since you have already tried resetting OneDrive and clearing the cache, please follow these advanced steps to resolve the authentication lock:
Step 1: Disconnect and Reconnect Work or School Accounts
Sometimes Windows holds onto a corrupted device registration state.
- Open Windows Settings (Win + I) > Accounts > Access work or school.
- Find the business accounts that are stuck, click on them, and select Disconnect. (Don't worry, this won't delete your cloud data).
- Restart your computer, return to this menu, and click Connect to sign back in.
Step 2: Delete the Specific Identity Cache Folder
If the issue persists, we need to clear the local broker database:
- Press Win + R, type
%localappdata%\Packagesand press Enter. - Look for the folder named
Microsoft.AAD.BrokerPlugin_cw5n1h2txyewy. - Cut and paste this folder to your Desktop (as a backup). Windows will recreate a fresh one when you attempt to sign in again.

Please note that as a forum moderator, I don’t have access to backend tools or internal systems to investigate further, and certain settings or configurations are managed exclusively by your organization’s administrators, so I’m unable to check or make changes on that side. That said, I truly hope these suggestions help you move forward.
Please let me know whether these steps resolve the issue, or if it is necessary to check the network proxy settings on your device.
