Hi Magnus,
If you delete the original page in your teacher section, it does not automatically remove the copies from student sections.
If you deleted the page from student sections or used a bulk delete, recovery becomes harder because OneNote’s recycle bin only retains deleted content from your own notebook, not from each student’s private section.
SharePoint recycle bin only helps if the notebook is stored in a SharePoint-backed location and the deleted content was synced there.
What you can do now
Check each student’s section manually If you only deleted the teacher copy, students’ versions should still be there.
Look in OneNote’s Notebook Recycle Bin In OneNote desktop:
Go to History → Notebook Recycle Bin.
If the page was deleted from your section, you can restore it.
Ask students to copy their work back If their pages are intact, they can move or copy them back to your section.
If pages were deleted from student sections Unfortunately, OneNote does not provide a central restore for distributed pages once removed from individual sections. The only option is to check if students have local backups or cached versions.
Future prevention tip Before deleting distributed content, confirm whether students have completed work. Consider exporting pages as PDFs or using OneNote’s Version History feature for teacher sections.
Because Class Notebook treats distributed pages as independent copies. Deleting your original page doesn’t affect student copies, but bulk deletion or sync errors can make recovery difficult.
Let me know how it goes, Happy to help!
