Simultaneous backup and sync in Samsung Gallery with Onedrive

Simple question, is it possible to use these 2 methods simultaneously? My gallery got backed up, then I enabled sync integration with Samsung Gallery and from that moment, not a single photo is backed up to "Camera Roll" folder. Syncing works but I need to get rid of it as Samsung ends integration by September. Do I need to unlink Samsung Gallery to have make it work again? Thank you

No, the two methods do not operate simultaneously. When Samsung Gallery Sync is enabled, it takes control of photo uploads and replaces OneDrive’s normal Camera Backup option. Photos are then stored under the Samsung Gallery folder rather than Pictures > Camera Roll.

Since Samsung Gallery Sync will end in a few months, I recommend switching now:

Unlink Samsung Gallery from OneDrive in Settings > Samsung account > Linked accounts > Microsoft > Unlink. The exact path may vary by phone.

Open the OneDrive app > Tap your profile picture, then Camera backup > Select the correct Microsoft account and turn Camera backup on.

Allow OneDrive access to all photos and videos.

Your existing photos in the OneDrive Samsung Gallery folder will remain there. New photos should begin uploading through OneDrive Camera Backup, normally into Pictures > Camera Roll. Be aware that OneDrive may scan and upload eligible photos again after switching, so check for duplicates.

Very important, do not delete the Samsung Gallery folder while it is still linked, because Gallery Sync is two-way and deletions can also remove photos from the phone. Unlink it first.

Now I get it. I unlinked the Samsung Gallery from Onedrive, but it did not trigger Camera Roll backup. I tried removing whole Camera Roll backup (as all of these photos were part of DCIM sync), but still no success. Only new ones are backed up unfortunately. So I guess Onedrive scanned all of those photos, found out that all of them are yet on the drive (but in different folder from sync feature) and decided not to duplicate them and backup only new photos. Am I right?

This must be newer feature. I didn't realize OneDrive could scan and not to duplicate the files. That's very nice actually.

And yes, Samsung Gallery and OneDrive backup are stored in different folders. You can manually move them in OneDrive once Samsung Gallery is unlinked.
