Quick font search in WORD on iPAD

Hello,

I have a question regarding the Word app on iPad. Earlier this year (around January 2025) it was possible to quickly search for fonts in the font list using a search bar at the top. Now, after recent updates, the search option seems to have disappeared – I only see the long scrolling list of fonts, without a search field or favorites option.

This makes it much harder to find specific fonts, especially when many are installed.

Could you please clarify:

  • Has the font search function been intentionally removed from Word on iPad?
  • Is there any alternative way to quickly locate a font (e.g. by typing the font name or marking favorites)?
  • Will the quick search or similar functionality return in a future update?

Hi! I understand how important this feature is. At the moment, there’s no official information on whether the change was intentional or the result of a bug.

Currently, there isn’t an option to find a font more quickly than scrolling through the list. If you’d like this feature to return, I recommend using the feedback option in the app so your request goes directly to the developers. To do this, tap your profile picture, select Help & Feedback, and then choose Suggest a Feature.
