Frequent delays in Windows Defender Security Intelligence updates (timely updates)

I'm experiencing a recurring and troubling issue with automatic Security Intelligence updates for Windows Defender Antivirus delayed.

Issue details:

Recurring delay: I've noticed that security definition updates (which are supposed to be instant and released multiple times a day) are frequently delayed by several hours. For example, the last time I updated, the difference between the last recorded update and the current time was two hours (last update 12:14 AM, actual time 2:05 AM). Other times, the delay has reached seven hours (from 9 PM to 4 AM).

Update illusion: Despite this delay, the Windows Security interface displays the message "Security intelligence is up to date," giving a false sense of security.

Other updates are working: Other Windows Update updates (monthly updates, platform updates) are working normally and are not delayed, indicating that the issue is specific to the Security Intelligence update pipeline only.
