Hello all. Since the new update came out (June 2025) my touchpad hasn't worked at all. I have no mouse curser, and the touchpad is entirely useless. My Keyboard had a similar issue with the keys not actually typing onto my screen, but I restarted my laptop a couple of times and now it works fine. I have gone through all the steps on the advanced option update and the device manager updates to try and fix my touchpad. Everything that is on the Microsoft webpage and in my settings hasn't worked. Is anyone else having this issue? How have you fixed it. I am in my last year of high school currently and I need my laptop to be working as best as it possibly can. If it wasn't a touchscreen, I wouldn't even be able to ask this question. Someone please help a student out.

Hi, I'm Estrella. I'll do my best to help you.

The update may have caused a driver conflict or disabled the touchpad driver, which is why it is not working properly. The KB5060829 Cumulative Update Preview is an optional update.

Have you already tried to download and install the touchpad driver from your PC manufacturers website?

If you need help, What is the make and model of your device?

In the search bar, type MSINFO32 and hit Enter.

Please share a screenshot of that window.

When you said you’ve done everything in Device Manager, did you already try uninstalling the touchpad driver and then restarting your computer to let it reinstall automatically? Have you also tried disabling and re-enabling it, or rolling back the driver to a previous version?

Have you also tried uninstalling the Windows Update that may be causing the issue?

Hello Estella. Thank you for your reply. My tech savvy brother took another look at my computer with the things you suggested, and it is working fine now. Thank you for taking the time to reply and help me. It is greatly appreciated.
