Hi everyone, who read this post, similiar to Can't enable "Virtual Machine Platform" feature in Windows 11 Pro 24H2 - Microsoft Community I have a problem about enabling "Virtual Machine Platform" for using Docker because it's required. I'm trying to enable it in "Windows Features", but it's not worked. After I ticked the box "Virtual Machine Platform" and then click OK. It tells me that "Windows couldnt find required files to complete the requested changes". Of course, it's still not enable.

However, my error message in powershell is different from the question in the link above:

PS C:\WINDOWS\system32> Enable-WindowsOptionalFeature -Online -FeatureName VirtualMachinePlatform

Enable-WindowsOptionalFeature : The source files could not be found.

Use the "Source" option to specify the location of the files that are required to restore the feature. For more information on specifying a source location, see https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=243077.

Many files are missing in the component store. A repair installation via Settings should resolve the issue.

Launch Settings > System > Recovery. Under "Fix problems using Windows Update", select "Reinstall now."

This does a repair installation, keeping your files, apps, and settings.

From admin Command Prompt, please run:

    dism /online /cleanup-image /startcomponentcleanup

    dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

    dism /online /enable-feature /featurename:VirtualMachinePlatform /all /norestart

    If that doesn't help:

    1. Open the Windows\Logs\CBS folder and share the two most recent .log files.
    2. Share "c:\windows\logs\DISM\dism.log".

    Hi Song,

Does Windows Update work correctly on the system? The 0x800F081F error can occur if the source files couldn't be fetched from the update servers.

You may try resetting Windows Update using the following batch file and try again:

    https://www.elevenforum.com/t/reset-windows-upd...

If that doesn't help, please share the CBS logs on OneDrive or GoFile.io.

To collect the CBS logs, open admin PowerShell and run:

    GCI -Path 'c:\windows\logs\cbs\*.*', 'c:\windows\inf\setupapi.dev.log' | Compress-Archive -destination (join-path ([environment]::GetFolderPath('Desktop')) \CBS.zip)

This creates a file named CBS.zip on your desktop.
