When I choose Lock Screen Picture, the only options I am offered are the "Recent images," all of which are from my own photos. How can I get a choice of colorful Windows options?

Click the 'Browse Photos' button

Then navigate to this folder: C:\Windows\Web\Wallpaper

All the default Windows backgrounds are stored in that folder

Can you find the background images you want in there?

As you select images from the sub-folders in there, they will be added back to the 5 images shown in the Lock Screen settings window.

There is a Windows Spotlight option that rotates different scenes. Yes, I would like to see the default Windows 11 backgrounds options.

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

Please provide a screenshot of that settings window in the settings app.

On that window, is there a drop-down menu that you can select 'Windows Spotlight' from?

Or if you do not want to use the random Spotlight images, do you want to use one of the default Windows 11 backgrounds on the Lock Screen?
