Windows update problem

I got this error message on Windows Update, Windows 10. I keep getting this message Your device is missing important security and quality fixes. But it does not find any updates. I got this before but it seems like it's happening again. Ran troubleshooter, found no errors on the disk, reloaded windows but still have this problem.

Do you have a third-party antivirus installed? (e.g., Kaspersky, McAfee, Avast, etc.) If yes, which one?

Also. What is the current "OS Build" of your Windows 10?

Press "Windows + R", type winver, and click OK.

If you prefer, share a screenshot. Use the shortcut "Windows + Shift + S" to use the screenshot tool.

I do not have any third-party antivirus software. I use Windows security and Microsoft Defender.

Your Windows 10 already has the latest update installed; therefore, this error is a recurring false positive caused by a corrupted update cache, desynchronized services, or system telemetry restrictions.

I suggest doing the following:

1 = Clear and reset the Windows Update cache as instructed below:

Open Start and type cmd, right-click on "Command Prompt", and select "Run as administrator".

Run the following commands at the Command Prompt one at a time:

net stop bits net stop wuauserv net stop cryptsvc ren %systemroot%\softwaredistribution softwaredistribution.bak ren %systemroot%\system32\catroot2 catroot2.bak net start bits net start wuauserv net start cryptsvc

After all these commands are completed, close the Command Prompt window and restart (not shutdown) your computer.

2 = If it persists, use the System File Checker to repair possibly corrupted files, as corrupted component store files may fail to register installed updates.

Open Start and type cmd, right-click on "Command Prompt", and select "Run as administrator".

Run the following commands at the Command Prompt one at a time:

dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth sfc /scannow

Note: Pay close attention to the results of the commands. This will help you determine whether the procedure was completed successfully or if there was a problem. If you get any errors, let me know the error message that was displayed.

Then restart (not shutdown) your PC.

If the problem persists, please let me know, and I will provide another method.

If Windows Update says “Your device is missing important security and quality fixes” but no updates are available, try the following steps in order.

Check that Windows Update services are running
- Press Win + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
  - Find Windows Update, Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS), and Cryptographic Services.
    - Make sure they are running and set to Automatic (or Automatic/Trigger Start where applicable).
Reset the Windows Update components Open Command Prompt as Administrator and run these commands one at a time:
```
   net stop wuauserv
```

net stop bits net stop cryptsvc ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 catroot2.old net start cryptsvc net start bits net start wuauserv

   
   Restart the PC and check Windows Update again.
   
   Repair Windows system files
   Open Command Prompt as Administrator and run:
   
   dockerfile
   DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

After it finishes, run:

   sfc /scannow

Restart the computer after both commands complete.

Check the Windows 10 version Press Win + R, type:

   winver
```
and press Enter. Make sure you are running a supported Windows 10 release. If Windows Update still does not offer updates, try Settings → Update & Security → Windows Update → Check for updates again after restarting.

I have done all of these and nothing changed.
