**Dear Microsoft Support Team,
**I am unable to access the Microsoft 365 Admin Center due to a multi‑factor authentication (MFA) verification failure. This issue is preventing me from performing critical administrative actions, including renewing active Microsoft 365 subscriptions.

After successfully signing in, I am prompted to verify my identity. I selected SMS (phone number) as the verification method, however, the OTP SMS code is not delivered, and the sign‑in attempt fails with the following error:

Error Details:

  • Error Code: 399287
  • Request ID: 5d583091-aef6-4f78-9fe1-483998974200
  • Correlation ID: b9305a9c-e79c-443f-a459-f8513550af01
  • Timestamp: 2026‑04‑27T09:32:07Z
  • Verification Method Attempted: Phone number (SMS)

An error message appears stating that Microsoft is having trouble verifying the account. I have retried the process multiple times, but the SMS code is never received.

Business Impact: This access issue is blocking administrative access to the Microsoft 365 Admin Center, which is required to:

  • Renew Microsoft 365 subscriptions
  • Perform tenant and license management activities

Due to this restriction, business operations are at risk if subscriptions are not renewed in a timely manner.

Request: I kindly request Microsoft Support’s urgent assistance to:

  • Investigate and resolve the MFA SMS delivery failure
  • Provide an alternative verification method or temporary admin access if required
  • Restore full access to the Microsoft 365 Admin Center as soon as possible

A screenshot of the error message has been attached for reference.

Please let me know if any additional information or identity verification is required to proceed.

Thank you for your prompt support.

I’ve reached out to the engineering team regarding the MFA issue on your account. They have now unblocked it from the backend and cleared the bad reputation associated with it. You should be able to log in to the Azure Portal without any issues.

Please try signing in and verify if you can complete SMS authentication successfully. Let me know if you encounter any problems.

As a best practice, I recommend registering the Microsoft Authenticator method for your account instead of relying on SMS. SMS and voice call authentication methods are more vulnerable to IRSF attacks (telephony fraud) and are generally less secure.

For better practice, I recommend registering with Microsoft Authenticator method to your account instead of SMS method as these SMS/Voice telecom auth methods are susceptible to IRSF attacks telephony fraud.
