Hello,

Since the latest Windows 11 update (security patch KB5083769 and .NET patch KB5082417) on 17/04/2026 the keys "ctrl", "alt" and "shift" doesn't trigger repeat when held.

I use those keys in a game where I have to hold the key to trigger an action multiple times without tapping.

Before the patch it worked correctly. The issue is observed only with those keys, any other key (for example a letter key) triggers the repeat correctly when held down.

There was no update on the game. I had already asked on the games forum and saw some people having similar issues (https://www.reddit.com/r/Maplestory/comments/1lmjlh1/yesterday_it_worked_today_it_doesnt/). I already tried the solutions proposed there without success.

Thanks in advance and sorry for my english if I made mistakes.

Open the Settings App.

Go to Accessibility - Keyboard.

Ensure the Toggle Keys, Sticky Keys and Filter Keys settings are disabled.

Then test if that resolves the problem.

If that does not resolve the problem.

Open Command Prompt, then paste in this command and press Enter:

msdt.exe -id KeyboardDiagnostic

Run that Keyboard Troubleshooter to see if that can solve the problem.
