Hello, I am using a Snapdragon X X1-26-100 (Dell Inspiron 14 5441) and I can't install a lot of apps, including Minecraft (specifically the bundle, "Minecraft: Java & Bedrock Edition for PC") as well as Roblox or Xbox, when I was told online that it should work because of emulation. I've seen people playing Minecraft Bedrock on Snapdragon processors, yet installing would give the error code 0X80070003, and under the install button it would say "Something went wrong". Kinda frustrated, and everything online tells me to reset this, restart that, which has not worked.

Some apps work though, like Discord, but I'm pretty sure Microsoft Store just downloads & installs the Discord installer externally, which has a native ARM64 build. But UWP apps like Minecraft (Bedrock), Xbox, and Roblox just don't work. Anyone have a solution for this? I tried manually installing the .appx files for these apps, like Minecraft, and while it (Minecraft) did actually work this way (under emulation), it wouldn't let me sign in through Microsoft, probably because it wasn't downloaded from the store itself.

Would appreciate it if anyone has a solution/fix for this issue. Google suggests that it does work under emulation, and I've seen YouTube videos showcasing Snapdragon laptops running these apps, yet it doesn't work for me.

Hi slurpderp,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Based on what you described, your device and Windows 11 installation are functioning correctly, and this behavior is not caused by a system misconfiguration. On Windows 11 running on Snapdragon processors, some Microsoft Store apps (such as Minecraft Bedrock, Xbox, and Roblox Store versions) rely on additional Store and gaming components that may not complete installation successfully in certain environments, even though app emulation itself is supported.

Here are some possible options as workarounds that you can try in this situation:

  • Install Minecraft using the installer from the official website.
  • Use browser versions for Roblox or Xbox Cloud Gaming.

Windows on Snapdragon continues to expand app support, and more Store apps are being updated to improve compatibility. In the meantime, keeping Windows fully up to date is the most reliable approach.

Let me know if you need further assistance, feel free to ask me by clicking "Add Comment" or "Add Answer" if you cannot add comment so your response will be visible. Thanks for your effort.

The error code 0X80070003 typically indicates that a file or path is not found, which can occur during app installations from the Microsoft Store. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot this issue:

    1. Check for Windows Updates: Ensure your Windows is fully updated. Sometimes, missing updates can cause installation issues.
    2. Reset Microsoft Store Cache: You can reset the Microsoft Store cache by pressing Windows Key + R, typing wsreset.exe, and hitting Enter. This will clear the cache and may resolve the issue.
    3. Check Storage Space: Ensure that you have enough storage space on your device. Lack of space can prevent apps from installing properly.
    4. Run Windows Store Apps Troubleshooter: Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters > Windows Store Apps, and run the troubleshooter to detect and fix problems.
    5. Check Region Settings: Sometimes, changing the region settings to the United States can help with app installations. Go to Settings > Time & Language > Region.
    6. Check Microsoft Store Install Service: Press Windows Key + S and type in services.msc. Find the Microsoft Store Install Service, right-click it, and select Restart. If it’s disabled, set it to Automatic and start it.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, consider checking if there are any specific compatibility issues with the apps you are trying to install on your Snapdragon processor, as not all apps may be fully optimized for ARM architecture.
