Hello, I need help recovering access to my Azure subscription.

I am the billing owner for my Azure subscription under my Microsoft Account (MSA)

I still receive Azure invoices at this email address. My latest invoice shows:

Primary Tenant ID: PII

However, I can no longer sign into Azure with this account. When I try, I receive an error saying I am not a member of the tenant, followed by a forced sign-out loop. As a result, I have zero access to my Azure Portal or subscription.

What I have tried:

Logged in with my Outlook MSA → Azure says I am not a member of the tenant.

Logged in with my old Hotmail account (which still accesses Azure Portal) → this account belongs to a different directory and does NOT contain the correct tenant ID.

Logged in with my Microsoft 365 admin account → also not a member of the subscription tenant.

None of my accounts show the tenant with ID PII.

I cannot submit a billing ticket via Azure Portal because I cannot access it under the correct account.

My issue:

It appears that the Azure AD tenant associated with my subscription has no valid user accounts left (an orphaned tenant scenario). The subscription still exists and is active (I am being billed), but I cannot access the directory at all.

What I need:

I believe this requires a Subscription Directory Reassignment so that Microsoft can move the subscription into a tenant where I have access, and re-associate my billing MSA (******@outlook.com) with the subscription.

I can provide:

My Azure invoices

Identity verification

Any additional info required

I would be grateful if a Microsoft engineer could help initiate the recovery process or direct this to the appropriate Azure Billing / Commerce team.

Thank you.

Hello LouisOMS,

The issue pertains to a tenant lockout, where no other global admin in the tenant has the necessary permissions to login and make changes in your tenant.

To resolve this, we have engaged our Data Protection team through a support ticket. They will reach out to you via email or phone to help restore access to the tenant and assist in resolving the issue.

If the resolution was helpful, kindly take a moment to accept the answer and upvote it 👍 it as a token of appreciation.
