I try to log in to my personal amazon account. It tells me I have to get a One Time Pass-code from my email @ Hotmail. I NEVER receive the pass-code. I spoke to amazon and they tell me they sent them yet nothing in my Hotmail.

Hi,

Here’s the Common reasons why is this happening:

The OTP email is landing in Junk/Spam or the Other tab Focused Inbox.

Hotmail’s filters or rules are moving or blocking the message.

Amazon’s automated emails sometimes get flagged by Microsoft’s servers.

Here are some steps you can try:

Check Junk/Spam and Other Tabs Search for Amazon or OTP in your mailbox.

Add Amazon to Safe Senders In Outlook/Hotmail settings:

Go to Settings → Junk Email → Safe Senders.

Add @amazon.com to ensure future emails arrive.

Disable Any Email Rules Make sure no rule is redirecting Amazon emails to another folder.

Request a New OTP Sometimes the first email gets stuck try resending.

Use Alternate Verification If possible, switch to SMS verification or Authenticator app for faster access.

if you still don’t see the email, log in to Hotmail via Outlook Web and confirm your mailbox isn’t full or blocked. Let me know how it goes, Happy to help!

Thank you for the answers. I solved the problem by going to account settings>email> and checked that Amazon was on a safe list. Once I added it there, POOF! the OTC came. Thanks again

If you are not receiving the One Time Pass-code (OTP) from Amazon to your Hotmail account, there could be several reasons for this issue:

    1. Spam or Junk Folder: Check your spam or junk folder in your Hotmail account. Sometimes legitimate emails can be mistakenly filtered as spam.
    2. Email Filters or Rules: Ensure that there are no filters or rules set up in your Hotmail account that might be redirecting or deleting emails from Amazon.
    3. Blocked Senders: Verify that Amazon's email address is not blocked in your Hotmail settings.
    4. Email Server Issues: Occasionally, there may be issues with the email server that could prevent emails from being delivered. You might want to check if there are any known issues with Hotmail or Outlook services.
    5. Amazon's Sending Issues: Although Amazon claims to have sent the OTP, there might be issues on their end with email delivery. You could try requesting the OTP again after some time.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, you may want to contact Hotmail support for further assistance regarding your email account.
