We have been fighting Microsoft support for over two weeks regarding this issue. They do not respond or call back when they say they will.

We recently purchased a domain for our business. This domain was previously used at a Microsoft 365 tenant that we do not or cannot control. We verified the domain with our domain's registrar in our Microsoft tenant. But, we cannot proceed with the additional records because the domain is still linked to a discontinued 365 tenant that we cannot access.

Support has been slow and unresponsive and we now rely on the data protection team. They are saying it could take 24-48 hours or 3 days or who knows when it will get resolved.

To say the least, I am very disappointed with Microsoft and their support. Now, I cannot even call and speak with an agent. The phone AI just directs me to a website to create a ticket. I try and create a ticket and it loops back to Microsoft 365 to my open request.

Very frustrating. How can a business survive with this level of support? We were able to create a Google Workspace temporary tenant with our domain within minutes.

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated. We cannot seem to get this escalated or resolved.
