Hello Saroj Gupta,

Thank you for posting your question in Microsoft Q&A forum.

I understand you’re seeing a “Parent or guardian consent is required” error when signing in, and the parent account also cannot log in.

You can follow these steps to fix the issue:

  1. Make sure your account is a child account under a Microsoft Family group. This error usually appears for accounts under 18.
  2. Go to https://account.microsoft.com/family and sign in using the parent or guardian account credentials.
  3. In the Family dashboard, locate the child account and follow the prompts to give consent. If asked, complete the verification process.
  4. If the parent account cannot log in, clear browser cache or try a different browser, device. Also ensure the parent account is active and not locked.
  5. If consent still fails, remove the child account from the family group and re-add it. Then repeat the consent process.

Hi!

Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

Can I confirm if there is an error that shows up when your parent tried logging in?

I've been using Q&A (and previously answers.Microsoft) for years. Today for the first I am unable to post a question because it requires a "parent". What is that? Consider that this requirement in effect bars me from ever posting a question. I can't post a question without providing "Parent" information, and I can't find "Parent" information because I can't post a question. Classic Catch-22.
This comment is clearly off-topic, but I don't any other way to ask for help about "Parent"
    Thanks for your help,
    PR Phillip
