MY ACCOUNT STOLEN

Hello,

My Microsoft account, which I have only used for playing Minecraft for years, has been stolen as of today. My email address "****@gmail.com" was changed to "**@thiodiphluque.com", and my access was restricted. I still have access to my phone, but there is no option to recover the account or reset the password using my phone. It is very upsetting and disappointing that my email could be changed without any notification or security code being requested. If it is this easy, then what is the point of trusting Microsoft with our accounts?

I filled out the Microsoft account recovery form, but it is impossible to remember every detail they requested. As a result, my request was denied, stating that my recovery information was insufficient. It is frustrating that no security measures were taken when my account was stolen, but now I cannot access my own account because of “security reasons.”

On the Microsoft support page, it says that someone can help through the support options, but when I check, I cannot get any real assistance. If you could simply send a recovery code to my phone number, I would be able to regain access, but I am not receiving any real help. Could you please assist me by checking the account usage history or anything else that could confirm my ownership? I am willing to provide any screenshots or verify through my phone, but I cannot establish direct communication with anyone. This situation is very upsetting. How will this problem be resolved?

Dear Ataberk Turan,

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A forum. I understand that your account linked to Minecraft has been change from a personal email domain to another domain.

Here are some steps to help you troubleshoot the issue:

  1. Fill recovery form (Recover your account)

The only way to recover your Microsoft account is by filling out the recovery form.  Please follow the instructions below carefully to give yourself the best chance of success when completing the form. Help with the Microsoft account recovery form - Microsoft Support

  1. Contact Microsoft support

If you are unable to complete the recovery form, please contact Microsoft Support so that a support agent can step in and help resolve the issue.

  • Go to Contact - Microsoft Support
  • Search for "Account Recovery" in the search box.
  • Click "Get Help" and press Enter.
  • Navigate through the support options to find "Contact Support."
  • Choose a relevant option like “Manage Account Security.”
  • For product/service, select "Other Products"
  • For category, choose "Manage Account Security"
  • Look for and select "Chat with a support agent in your web browser" or a similar callback option.
  • Clearly explain your situation

Important: I do not have the authority or ability to access or recover your Microsoft account. Only Microsoft can restore access through their official recovery and verification process.

If your recovery attempts have failed, you should contact Microsoft Support directly and provide proof of ownership, such as:

  • Purchase receipts (e.g., for Minecraft, Xbox, or Microsoft Store),
  • Screenshots showing account activity (e.g., Xbox, Skype),
  • Billing information previously linked to the account.

However, if all recovery attempts continue to fail, it usually means the account is considered unrecoverable. In that case, creating a new Microsoft account may be the only practical solution.
